The problems discussed in this article are not themselves the source of Democratic failings, but rather symptoms of a deeper problem: a lack of courage. It is not a crisis of competence that the Democrats face, but rather a crisis of confidence. It will be impossible to implement any solutions until Democrats gain the backbone to do so.
