We the people, in order to restore accountability to our government, secure our democracy for future generations, and uphold the values of responsible leadership, hereby declare our intention to host a public impeachment proceeding against George W. Bush and Dick Cheney for their High Crimes and Misdemeanors.
The public shall gather at Faneuil Hall on Saturday, April 28th, at Noon, and shall constitute a Public Impeachment Council that shall hear evidence and vote on charges of High Crimes and Misdemeanors.
We will hear from several notable speakers, circulate petitions, see and hear the protest art, and impeach the President!
Whereas George W. Bush and Dick Cheney have knowingly and purposefully mislead Congress and the public in order to wage an immoral and illegal war;
whereas they have admitted to conducting illegal domestic spying operations in direct violation of the law;
whereas they have conspired to circumvent the Geneva Convention treaty, which the Constitution upholds as the “law of the land”;
whereas they have illegally detained Americans, stripped them of their right to legal counsel, and held them without charge, and conducted such acts without oversight and at their own discretion;
whereas they have conspired to leak classified information in order to undermine national intelligence efforts and in order to support their drive to war;
whereas they have illegally attempted to alter or disregard the laws passed by Congress using so their signing statements;
Therefore be it resolved that we, the people, proclaim our intent to publicly impeach and convict George W. Bush and Dick Cheney for their High Crimes and Misdemeanors
