"Victims of the Haditha Massacre"

House #1 -- 7 killed, 2 injured (but survived), 2 escaped

Killed:

  • Abdul Hamid Hassan Ali, 76 -- grandfather, father and husband, who used a wheelchair, due to a leg amputation following complications with diabetes. Died with nine rounds in the chest and abdomen.
  • Khamisa Tuma Ali, 66 -- wife of Abdul Hamid Hassan Ali
  • Rashid Abdul Hamid, 30
  • Walid Abdul Hamid Hassan, 35
  • Jahid Abdul Hamid Hassan, middle-aged man
  • Asma Salman Rasif, 32
  • Abdullah Walid, 4

Injured:

  • Iman, 8
  • Abdul Rahman, 5

Escaped:
Daughter-in-law, Hibbah, escaped with 2-month-old Asia

House #2 -- 8 killed, 1 survivor
Killed:
  • Younis Salim Khafif, 43 -- husband of Aeda Yasin Ahmed, father
  • Aeda Yasin Ahmed, 41 -- wife of Younis Salim Khafif, killed trying to shield her youngest daughter Aisha
  • Muhammad Younis Salim, 8 -- son
  • Noor Younis Salim, 14 -- daughter
  • Sabaa Younis Salim, 10 -- daughter
  • Zainab Younis Salim, 5 -- daughter
  • Aisha Younis Salim, 3 -- daughter
  • A 1-year-old girl staying with the family

Survived:
Safa Younis Salim, 13

The Marines shot them at close range and hurled grenades into the kitchen and bathroom, survivors and neighbors said later.

House #3 -- 4 brothers killed

The four young men had left the Technical Institute in Saqlawiyah for the weekend to stay with one of their families, who lived on the street.
