why is it that so many people listened, voted for, and encouraged a 'president' that has shown nothing but disrespect for his country? why heed the words, sit back and allow our very heroic patriotic soldiers go into a battle that was nothing but a hostile corporate take over for "our" president and his cronies? i despise the government that supposedly runs "our" country...i feel strongly that we as a nation have become a corporation...not a democracy...we are the laughing stock of the world because of GB & DC and i am for the third time in my life embarrassed to be called an American. i vote, i protest, i educate, and i keep learning but i don't understand how we can allow our sons & daughters to be slaughtered in an unjust, criminal, and ridiculous war. A war that benefits only the oil rich tycoons, and their billionaire cronies....I am ashamed to live in this country...to say i am an American.
Please don't get me wrong, I love this country, the people that live here...the people that are our TRUE patriots. i am ashamed of the division in social/economic classes, our school systems, etc.

So what would you suggest to stop the terrorists in this world? Would you go over there and have a nice sit down lunch with them and ask them pretty please to stop? Wouldn't it be great if the world worked like that? But, unfortunately it doesn't. Our world has some seriously messed up human beings that like to kill just for the hell of it. Oh, I'm sorry, for a religion that claims to be peaceful. Iraq was and is (although is slowly starting to change) the center of terrorism in the world. After 9/11 when thousands of Americans were killed it became apparant that someone has to take some control in this world to make all the senseless violence stop. So...what exactly are we doing wrong? We're out there trying to prevent future attacks like the one on 9/11 from ever happening again. We saved a country from a leader comparable to Hitler. We are liberating women from a life of suppression. We're helping people be able to state their opinion or belief without having the fear of being beheaded or gunned down on their way to work. If you want this war to be over so bad then you come up with a way to stop the terrorists from literally owning this world. We are doing what is necessary to save millions and millions of peoples lives that could have potentially been cut short by future terrorist attacks that, face it, would only have gotten worse. Oh, but wait, we're only in this for the oil...I forgot.
